Our Story

Head beekeeper is Lyndon who began keeping bees to help with his mental health. In his previous job in the Army and then the Police force he observed a lot of trauma. The trauma built up and affected sleep, mood and puts him into a state of hypervigilance which creates anxiety but looking after the bees is soothing.

When keeping bees, he can put the stress out of his mind, slow down to observe and care for our bee friends. It has worked wonders.

The second beekeeper is Sheryl (who used to be an environmental educator, is a wildlife carer and behaviour change waste officer) has a passion for sustainability, nature and conservation. Keeping bees is great for the ecosystem as the bees provide pollination services for us and in return we maintain and create a lovely habitat full of bee food. The kids Owen and Lewis help out with simple jobs where possible.
